Bible Texts: 1 Peter 2: 9 Exodus 19: 5 – 6

The Almighty God has a plan for our lives. He does as He pleases. (Psa. 115:3). He does the selection and qualification of those who He wants to use for the furtherance of His Kingdom. God is not a respecter of persons; in fact, Peter gave an account of God in Acts 10: 34, saying ‘…of a truth, I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him’. God will use anyone who is available to reach the unreached all over the world. God’s heartbeat is Evangelism. His desire is that the message of salvation be preached everywhere before His Second Coming.

In our secular world; hardly would a person be interviewed for a position unless they have some sort of qualification or certificates or profile which qualifies them for the job. With God; you do not qualify for anything you get from Him because even our salvation is by grace alone. Our righteousness is like filthy rags before Him. (Isa 64:6).

God always look beyond certificates and credentials when He selects for a purpose. Many are called but few are chosen. (Matt 22:14). Has God chosen you for an assignment/ position and you are beginning to feel you are not qualified? Congratulations to you, because God who has chosen you will qualify you for the task at hand.

God is the only one who knows how to use the qualified and the unqualified maximally to bring the best out of them. God took Saul, a highly qualified advocate, who ignorantly was serving the purpose of the devil, by attacking the church vehemently; Jesus took him and made out of Saul; a Paul, totally dedicated to God in service and devotion. This same God took David a shepherd and turned him into a King. (Acts 9: 4-5, 1 Sam 16:1). All that God requires is your availability. Jhn 3: 30. Jesus chose fishermen as his first disciples (Matt 4: 18-22). Samuel was a young lad when God picked him for a special assignment (1 Sam 3:1), Gideon was a timid person (Judg 6:15) and Mary was a virgin (Luk 1:35).

For you to be used of God, the only qualification that God requires is that you give your life to Christ:

Jesus referring to Nicodemus in John 3: 3, “Jesus answered and said unto him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” To qualify, you must repent of your sin and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour today. Jesus in Matt. 4: 17 is saying to you now “……Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” This is necessary because it is a crucified man that can preach the Crucified Christ.

If God has chosen you for an assignment; stop looking at your inadequacies. Follow the Lord’s leading. Your calling is divine.
